Bulgarian Starter Culture for Traditional Yogurt -  home made natural, organic - up to 20 liters

The Starter Culture for original Bulgarian Yogurt is a symbiotic combination of selected natural sources and lactic-acid microorganism strains - type Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. Lactobacillus bulgaricus is well known as an excellent health and longevity source in our daily diet. Many prestigious medical science institutes have studied and confirmed the regenerative prophylactic and probiotic effects of the Lactobacillus strains, included in this Starter Culture. Their antimicrobial activity contributes to the processes of maintaining the healthy balance of all necessary microorganisms for the digestive tract. They are also helping in the processes of eliminating bad cholesterol, detoxifying and anti-cancerogenic overall effect, as well as immune system booster.

The quality of the final product depends on the fresh milk used as a source. If the results are not satisfactory – use another brand of milk.

The final product could be used as a starter culture for multiple times. Add 1 or 2 table spoons in 1 Liter boiled and cooled down milk, as described on the package. The fermentation time in this case is 2 to 3 hours shorter.


Storage:

Keep it in temperatures between 0 ° and 10 ° С.

Ingredients:

No less than 1x10⁹ living cells per gram

Lactobacillus bulgaricus

Streptococcus thermophilus


Preparation steps:

1. Boil the raw milk.

2. Keep it hot for 30 min.

3. Cool it down to 42-45°C.

4. Open the capsule, pour the contents into the milk and stir very well.

5. Wait for 8-10 hours without stirring at 42-45°C.

6. Put in refrigerator until cooled down to 10°C without stirring.

In case you use a yogurt maker, please follow the applied instructions.

The Kefir is an ancient traditional Kavkaz drink, well known for its healing effect. The secret in Kefir making is the starter culture, which are the kefir grains. 6. Put in refrigerator until cooled down to 10°C without stirring.
